Mental Health Providers Forum Annual Conference 18th November
Personalisation: Making it work! – Effective methods of involving service users and developing leadership - the 2010 Mental Health Providers Forum annual conference is now taking bookings.

Taking Charge of of Lives, Saturday 4 September. Volition is supporting this event for people who want to find out about opportunities and develop strategies for staying mentally healthy in Leeds. Information stalls, workshops and a performance stage. Contact Volition to book a place.

Voluntary Action - Leeds and Leeds Voice are the main contacts for funding, training and vacancies in the Leeds voluntary sector. LAF (Yorkshire) (formerly Leeds Accommodation Forum) also deliver training to the voluntary sector, as do the Holistic Partnership and several Volition member organisations including St Anne's Community Services, Leeds Mind, Community Links and Leeds Counselling.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England

MHFA is a national training programme to teach people how to recognise the symptoms of mental health problems, how to provide initial help and how to guide a person towards appropriate professional help. Locally it is delivered by Community Links.

Carers Connections Training at LPFT

Carers Connections is a diverse programme of information and training for carers to support them in their caring role. You can download the summer programme here (Word, 135 KB), or access further information here.

Expert Patients Training (EPP) at NHS Leeds

The EPP Course is a tried and tested free course for people with long term health conditions or disabilities to improve how people feel, look after themselves and their quality of life. New Beginnings is a version of the EPP course specially adapted for people with mental health issues, delivered over 7 consecutive weekly sessions, each lasting two and a half hours.
