What's new?
What’s new around Volition?
Our newsletter has a fuller picture of what's happening in mental health in Leeds. The up and coming issues that we are working on include:
- A new Joint protocol between Leeds City Council and Leeds Partnerships Foundation Trust (LPFT) to provide housing options and housing related support to people in mental health inpatient settings developed in collaboration with NHS Leeds, housing related support services and Volition was launched in June. This excellent partnership work means that housing issues are now addressed in a timely and person centred way with Leeds City Council – Housing Strategy and Solutions providing inreach services, LPFT staff working to address housing need from admission and providers using a single referral mechanism and collaborating closely with housing to meet need quickly. An update report is available.
- Commissioning: we ran a briefing with Adult Social Care for our members in July about ASC's new Commissioning Prospectus. Notes and presentations are available.
- Self Directed Support Forum for voluntary sector service providers is a partnership between Volition, Learning Disabilities Forum, Older People’s Forum and PSI Network. The forum meets every 2 months, contact Volition for more information or to join.
- The Volition members' annual conference was held on 28 January 2010. Presentations from the conference are now available on the Events page of this website.
We also send a weekly email bulletin containing details of forthcoming events, training and vacancies to one contact in each of our member organisations. It is requested that the weekly bulletin is disseminated from that point. If you are not receiving it then please contact Volition to find out who is the main contact in your organisation.
