Men’s Health in Leeds The Way Forward: from Learning to Action in the Third Sector
Date: Thursday May 25 2017
Time: 9:00 am – 12:30 pm
Place: Broadcasting Place, Leeds, LS2
In June 2016 Leeds Beckett University launched a research report exploring the health and social issues of the male population in Leeds.
It found that there are a significant proportion of boys and men who are failing to reach their potential in terms of their educational attainment, employment, stable safe relationships, fatherhood, and their physical and mental health.
Across nearly all causes of death, men in Leeds are more likely than women to die at a younger age.
One year on, this event is an opportunity to remind us of the findings; share current good practice where services are successfully reaching men; and plan for reaching men who are currently unreached by existing provision.
As the third sector we can play a significant role in ensuring boys and men reach their full potential.
Please note that registration is from 9.00am and the event starts at 9.30am.
